Operation: Science Quest

Welcome to the Operation: Science Quest resource page for Grades 1-6. Operation: Science Quest, or OSQ, is an interactive CD-ROM that uses the power of multimedia to teach science concepts through engaging, interactive adventures. Here you will find:

• Lesson-based OSQ correlations to the Macmillan/McGraw-Hill California Science program to help customize your instruction.
• Correlations to California Science Content Standards.
• The latest online version of OSQ User's Manual, which is available for download as a PDF file. You will need an installed version of Adobe(R) Acrobat(TM) to download the file.

California Reviewers: non-packaged grades are available for viewing as less-than-final-format.

Note 1: These grades are still in development. Any errors will be fixed in the final, packaged CD-ROM product which will be available Summer 2006.

Note 2: You will need Flash Player 8 to view the Operation: Science Quest activities.

Grade 2 Treasure Hunters

The characters are explorers searching for lost "treasure" deep in a jungle. Completion of each adventure is rewarded with a Treasure Note.

Grade 3 Secret Agents

The characters are working for a secret agency to combat a band of villains called B.U.N.K. Completion of each adventure is rewarded with a Debunking Award.

Grade 4 Science Island

A husband-and-wife research team calls on the characters to assist in exploring a newly discovered, deserted island. Completion of each adventure is rewarded with a Science Challenge Award.

Grade 6 Job for a Day

A spin of a game-show wheel leads the characters to team up with professionals working in different fields. Completion of each adventure is rewarded with an Honorary Scientist Certificate.
